The Sweetwater/Juniper
Creeks Canoe Trail twists through the Blackwater
River State Forest. The upper Sweetwater Creek portion
is narrow, winding and fairly swift. After The trail
joins Juniper Creek, curves become gentler and the
current slows. Sweetwater/Juniper Creeks have tea-colored
water with white sandy bottoms and wide sandbars.
History records that Andrew Jackson crossed the river
at Red Rock during the Seminole Wars. The canoe trail
connects with Jackson Red Ground Hiking Trail.
